After composing foot tapping chartbusters for Abbas-Mustan’s ‘Race’, Pritam has composed music for the director duo’s maiden production venture ‘Life Partner’.But the soundtrack is not as impressive as his previous work such as ‘Jab We Met’, ‘Life…In A Metro’, ‘Dhoom 2′ and ‘Gangster’. After hearing the songs, it is evident that he hasn’t gone that extra mile for the album.The album contains five original songs and two remixes.

On the whole, the album is a major disappointment. Better compositions and hummable lyrics were expected from Pritam and Javed Akhtar.

Yet the music of the film is not as interesting as one expected. The soundtrack of the film - an Anil Kapoor production starring Akshaye Khanna, Arshad Warsi and Amrita Rao - entails four originals and two remixes."Kal nau baje", a melodious romantic number, is crooned by Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik. Soft music and vocals by two experienced and talented singers are the high points of the song. It has the potential to stay with the listener even after the song is over.

Up next is "Kyun hota hai dil deewana" and it is sung by Javed Ali and Shreya Ghosal. The song has traces of qawalli music but it's not very prominent. It's foot-tapping, high on beats and does appeal for some time but lacks in holding the interest for long. The lyrics are snothing extraordinary."Mareeze mohabbat", a fusion of rustic and western influences, is different owing to its sudden break from Indian music to western and back to Indian during the course of the song.The track is sung by Sonu Nigam's sister Nikita Nigam along with Kirti Sagathia, Hrishikesh Kamerkar and Shankar Mahadevan. With touches of English rap interlinked with Indian touches, the song does have a potential to impress the listener.The song also has a remixed version, making the already fast-paced song fit for the dance floor.

After a long time, music buffs will be able to savour the compositions of Annu Malek through the much-awaited film "Kambakkht Ishq". The music of the film, which stars Akhshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and Hollywood stars Sylvester Stallone, Brandon Routh and Denise Richards, is good only in parts.The soundtrack has five originals and four remixes."Bebo", a song crooned by Alisha Chinai is average. One expected much more from the singer who has beautifully sung songs like "Kajra re" from "Bunty Aur Babli". However, the vocals are extremely mediocre and the uninteresting lyrics make matters worse. "Bebo" is a usual, fast-paced, high on beats song.

The number also has a remixed version which only adds more beats to the original and nothing else. A complete disappointment. There were certain expectations from the title track of the film, but "Kambakkht Ishq" does not fulfil anything. The song sung by KK and Sunidhi Chauhan is backed by strong musical arrangements but the lyrics are a put off.The original was already high on beats, so the song did not need a remixed version. This version of the song is quite similar to the original, making it difficult to recognise which is original and which is the remixed one.

The serene Main Chala, with an evocative rendition by Javaid again, stands out.The mellow cadence and languorous strumming are apt as are the piquant lyrics.Nazrein Karam has an addictive tune that is exploited to the hilt by Sharib Toshi.KK’s kinetic vocals power through this one with consummate ease.The rollicking number comes out trumps.Sandesh Shandilya’s silken Tere Bin is a complete bamboozler.Seemingly incongruous amidst all the flamboyance, it manages to carve a niche for itself .

It is known news that the rugged villain Ajay has now changed his track and has become a hero. His new movie has been titled ‘Aa Okkadu’ and yesterday, the audio release function of his movie happened in a grand style amidst the presence of some real big names of the Tollywood circuit.

The place to be was the Novotel hotel at HICC in hi-tech city and the event was marked by the presence of celebrities like Ravi Teja, Ram, Trivikram Srinivas, Puri Jagannadh, S S Rajamouli, meher Ramesh, Daggubati Suresh Babu along with the cast and crew members of the film.

The film has Ajay pairing up with the new beauty Madhurima and then there is the Malayalam superstar Suresh Gopi who is playing a key role. The music for the film has been composed by melody Brahma Mani Sharma and the film is directed by S S Murthy. Good luck for the audio folks!!

Music of Colors Swati’s Tamil blockbuster Subramanyapuram’s Telugu dubbed version ‘Ananthapuram 1980’ was launched at a function organized in Prasad Labs. Colors Swati, Kajal Agarwal, Bheemineni Srinivasa rao, Shashank Vennelakanti, Pokuri Babu Rao, Madala Ravi, Veera Shankar, Paras Jain etc.

Pokuri Babu Rao launched the audiocassette and gave the first unit to Madala Ravi. Kajal Agarwal launched the audio CD and gave the first unit to Bheemineni Srinivasa Rao.

Colors Swati said, “This film became a big hit in Tamil. Though it was a hit, I was little disappointed that Telugu movie lovers could not see this movie. I am happy that Telugu version is releasing now. I didn’t understand few Tamil words in Tamil version. I dubbed the Telugu version as well and I came to know about the complete meaning of those words. I am hopeful of this movie getting appreciated here as well.”

Audio of ‘Sneha Geetam’ is released in a function at Raavi Narayana Reddy auditorium on Sunday, 19 April. Introducing six new faces in the lead roles this youthful entertainer is a produce of Lagadapati Sridhar. The film marks the directorial debut of Madhura Sreedhar.

The occasion was graced by young and popular director VV Vinayak, ace cinematographer Chota K Naidu and well known music composer Ramana Gogula as special guests.

VV Vinayak opened the audio CD and presented the first copy to Chota K Naidu, while Ramana Gogula released the Cassettes and presented the copies to the lead artists of the movie. Later the music numbers were played, each for a minute, on this occasion.
